Merseyside Energy Recovery is a project holding 30 year PFI contract with Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority, treating 460,000 tpa of waste and providing green energy to 63,000 households. The facility started operation in 2016 and the contract includes build and operation of an EfW and a waste transfer station connected via rail.
